Civil Process

The Sheriff's Office administrative section is responsible for civil process, records management (Records Release Form), budget, emergency management, investigation division, and the general day to day operations of the Sheriff's Office. Administration is active in collaborating with different agencies and groups within our community for proactive law enforcement.

A Return of Service form and a self-addressed, stamped envelope (for the Return) are needed to aid in the return process. The self-addressed, stamped envelope is not a requirement but it will expedite getting the Return to you. If the Return of Service needs to be notarized please stipulate this in the cover letter since our courts do not require it and we do not routinely do it.

The fee for notarization is $2.00. We do not take process in for service over the weekend. They are accepted Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. If you have any further questions, please contact the Civil Office at (970) 824-4495.
